The plan was to finish at least one of the blankets that I’m currently working my through before beginning another project, but that went out the window when I saw this pattern for a flamingo by Annaboo’s house. It’s so cute!
When you buy the pattern from Etsy, you can get it in both UK and US terms. It’s really easy to follow with the body and neck made at the same time, and the head, eyes, wings and legs made separately before stitching together. The only stitch needed is the double crochet (dc) and it’s handing to have a stitch marker (or two, or three, if like me you lose them all the time!).
I really enjoyed this one, and love the bright pink colours. She’ll definitely take pride of place in my living room, although my cousin has already dropped a heavy hint that she’d look good in her new house!
Now I really need to finish at least one of the blankets I’m working on. I also need to blast my way through my project list and use up some of the yarn that I seem to have collected. Last weekend I found a bag of around 16 balls of yarn that I bought a couple of months ago which I’d completely forgotten about and I had to log in to my Wool Warehouse account to check when I’d bought it. Oops. Although I definitely have enough yarn left over from this project to make at least one more Florence….
Materials used:
- 4mm hook
- Women’s Institute DK in grey
- Sirdar Bonus DK in iced pink for the wings and pink for the body and head
- 9mm safety eyes
- Hobbycraft soft toy filling
Looks fab! My stash is ridiculous, I must crochet faster to use it. 😊
