For me, 2020 seems to be the year of the granny stitch blanket. So far I’ve finished a long standing WIP from 2019, and started and finished a granny star and granny c2c. My latest completed project is a granny ripple blanket that I began in February.
I’m by no means a fast crocheter and I find that I get frustrated pretty quickly when it comes to complicated projects. So, granny stitch projects are my favourite and an easy mindfulness project for these strange times. This latest blanket is a mix of four Stylecraft DK colours, Cream, Parma Violet, Duck Egg and Clematis. Apparently the majority of my projects always involve some shade of purple and/or pink!

I found a great written pattern with photographs on Pinterest by Just be Crafty. I finished with a border of one row of half treble stitches followed by a row of treble crochets.

As with many of my projects, I just kept going until it was the size I wanted, usually doing three or four rows an evening. The finished piece is 150cm long and 66cm wide. A perfect size to cosy up with on the sofa!

That looks so warm and cozy!
